Malay Learning Journey: Pintu Magika Nenek Kebayan

On 10 July, a Primary 5 ML student had the unforgettable experience of watching ‘Pintu Magika dan Nenek Kebayan’ at Wisma Geylang Serai. The show, filled with laughter and excitement, brought Malay folktales to life as students followed the journey of a lost boy who discovered a magical door leading to a realm of legendary warriors, spirits, and mythical creatures. Guided by the mystical Nenek Kebayan, they learned valuable lessons and celebrated the richness of Malay folklore. Some of our students had the opportunity to participate as one of the characters, enhancing their knowledge and appreciation of their cultural heritage. The atmosphere was vibrant, with a sporting audience, making the event both educational and entertaining.

• At the end of the show, we get to interact with the characters before taking photo together.

• The show was so engaging. The experience was surreal - with the booming sound effect, lighting and the casts’ superb acting skill. We truly enjoyed the experience.

• Going to a Malay Language theatre performance is a new experience for many of us. The actors and actress use interesting Malay words and phrases. And all of them they can sang beautifully.

• Listening attentively to the Director final instruction! I hope I got the instruction right this time!

• Looking for clues for my next move!

• Finally, I got to play my part as a savior!
